- 1Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- 2Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 5-6 minutes until well-browned and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
- 3In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and garlic. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add cherry tomatoes and sauté 3-4 minutes until softened and just bursting.
- 4Stir in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, red pepper flakes, remaining salt, and lemon zest. Simmer gently for 8-10 minutes until sauce thickens.
- 5Return chicken to the pan, then add drained pasta, Parmesan, and most of the basil. Toss to combine, adding splashes of reserved pasta water as needed so everything is nicely coated.
- 6Serve immediately, garnished with extra basil and Parmesan.
