- 1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
- 2In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons softened butter to form a crumbly streusel.
- 3In a large bowl, beat remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup butter, and vanilla until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
- 4Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt together in another bowl.
- 5In a third bowl, mix sour cream, milk, and 1/3 cup maple syrup.
- 6Alternately add dry ingredients and sour cream mixture to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with flour, stirring just until combined.
- 7Spread half the batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle half the streusel on top. Layer remaining batter, then finish with remaining streusel.
- 8Bake for 33–36 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out with a few crumbs.
- 9Whisk powdered sugar and 2–3 tablespoons maple syrup until smooth. Drizzle glaze over warm cake. Slice and enjoy!
