- 1Divide ground beef into 12 equal portions and shape into slider-sized patties (about 2 oz each, 1/2 inch thick). Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- 2Preheat grill or large skillet to medium-high heat. Cook patties in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, or until browned and internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- 3During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a halved slice of cheddar cheese and a spoonful of BBQ sauce. Cover to melt the cheese.
- 4While burgers cook, brush slider buns with melted butter and toast cut side down in a pan or on the grill for 1–2 minutes, until golden.
- 5Assemble each slider with a patty, crispy fried onions, a pickle slice, and optional toppings. Cap with the top bun and serve with extra BBQ sauce.
