- 1Dice the onion and mince the garlic. Set aside.
- 2Place chicken breasts in the bottom of your crockpot. Top with diced onion and minced garlic.
- 3Add brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and chili powder (if using) over the chicken.
- 4Pour BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar evenly on top.
- 5Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and shreds easily.
- 6Remove chicken to a plate and shred with two forks.
- 7Return shredded chicken to the crockpot. Stir to coat well in sauce and let it sit on warm for 10-15 minutes to soak up flavors.
- 8Serve hot, adding extra BBQ sauce if desired. Enjoy!
