    Pat chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Sear chicken for 4–5 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Set aside.

    Lower heat to medium and add butter. Sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.

    Pour in chicken broth, scraping up brown bits. Add heavy cream, bring to a simmer, and (optional) whisk in cornstarch slurry if a thicker sauce is desired.

    Stir in Parmesan until melted. Add fresh basil and let it wilt.

    Return chicken to skillet. Top each breast with mozzarella. Cover and cook 2–4 minutes until cheese is melted.
