    Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment and lightly grease.

    Puree 1 lb strawberries. Simmer with lemon juice and optional sugar over medium heat, stirring, until reduced to about 1/2 cup, 12 to 15 minutes. Cool completely.

    In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and granulated sugar until glossy. Whisk in eggs and vanilla until slightly thick.

    Whisk cooled strawberry reduction into the wet mixture.

    In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and optional freeze-dried strawberry powder. Fold into the wet ingredients just until no dry streaks remain.

    Spread batter in the pan and bake 22 to 26 minutes, until edges are set and a toothpick near the center shows moist crumbs.
